Yeah I saw that and I happen to know that on this show they were miming. They recorded the version they are playing the day before the programme. John Entwistle played the song with a pick which gives his bass such a sharp sound-a sound which you wouldn't easily be able to get playing with yor fingers- which also kind of gives it away.
