Hull was a great place to grow up in the 60's. The beach,Paragon Park and a blue collar town with a lot of Heart. I do not live in Hull now, but hope to come back soon.

I'm so glad I stumbled onto this, I worked at Paragon Park for two summers, when my family rented a cottage in Gun Rock[a section of hull] I loved the Surf every Saturday night and Sunday afternoons! Billyo North Quincy '67

It is wild to be sitting in Tennessee and watch this video---makes me want to go home. Why do big wigs let places like this, that bring so many memories, let them go. Sad----I loved Nantasket/Paragon Park

Great photos, though I think the one of the roller-coaster cars was not from Paragon Park... there were no trees anywhere around the coaster, as I recall, though I do recall the "Comet" on the front of the cars (my first and still favorite coaster). If you remember the Wild Mouse, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Wild Mouse at The Oaks Park in Portland, OR; unfortunately, that wonderful, rickety ride has been replaced with one of those new, steel-tracked coasters.... not nearly the appeal.

I graduated in '71, also, but from Newton (North); but I spent every summer in Hull (and my mother still does... this is her 73rd year (perhaps 77th... she just turned 90) there, I think? Back when the population actually got 5-10 times bigger in the summer and Hull was a sleepy wintertime town... no more. |
