He's a fascinating figure. He did a lot of terrible things but he also did a lot of great things. You can't pin him down the way you can pin down Clinton or Dubya. Plus Nixon was funny as hell at times.

Actually the film is quite sympathetic to Nixon. If you had bothered to watch the picture before judging it, you'd be aware of that fact.

Boy, talk about out of touch with the times. This movie might have flown twenty years ago, but America has since forgiven Nixon and recognize his achievements as President and not just his flaws. Much to the surprise of all, Nixon not only became our elder statesman before his death, he became our beloved elder statesman. No wonder this movie has flopped. A bash Nixon-so out of place with our modern view of this misunderstood man.

why dont they make a movie like this about clintons sex scandals? theyd probably have more material to work with...

The movie begins by identifying characters with subtitles, as if it is going to be a historical account. It should begin with one that says "This is absolute fiction". Its dishonest to portray this as factual. So, if it is fiction, if this was a fictitious "President", instead of Nixon, you would all think that it sucked. But that's actually what it is, so IT DOES SUCK!

Going to the cinema on Sunday with my sister to see this - can't wait. The guy who plays Frost - Michael Sheen is an amazing actor - he portrayed Kenneth Williams in "Fantabulosa".
