Shots should have been fired back at those idiots at the very first opportunity, which they were not. In an urban enviroment you will almost always have a background behind your target that is "friendly". This video doesn't show it, but there comes a time where the bad guys car stops and they continue to shoot countless rounds at officers and everything behind the officers. If you aren't going to fire back at that point then I don't know what else to say.

I have to speak up and strongly disagree with those particular police chiefs and other officers who praise the officers in this incident of "showing great restraint" in not firing their weapons out of concern for the safety of innocent bystanders. As a cop, I must say that not only should we be held accountable for every round we fire, but we are ALSO responsible for protecting the public from all rounds fired from dirtbags, especially from assault rifles.

And wtf are you talking about civillians chasing these guys down? I see a comment about someone being the first civillian to stop, but in law enforcement, when something happens to you, you love those that stop to help, anything from fighting someone to getting shot at. Obviously, you don't know what you are talking about.

sorry, but I have been shot at, and I remembered to let dispatch know. Please, if you have never done law enforcement, don't comment about it, if you have. GREAT. Shots fired is one of those things that you say right away, to let everyone know what is going on, oh, and police officers aint equipped to handle automatic weapon fire either. However please, no need to call people names, it just shows ignorance, and that you have a badass syndrome, since no one here knows you irl no one will get you.

you totally missed my point..but thats ok insults will get you everywhere..not accepting the fact that people have different opinions will get you anywhere you want to be especially in a discussion..i wonder how you treat the pour people around you.. the fact that you project aggresion is a sign of your instability and limited capacity to function in our society..perhaps it you, who needs to return to the TV.

Nice second guessing. The other units who were right behind him were obviously aware of the shots fired, as evidenced by the plain unit who stopped momentarily to ask if he was ok. The video lasts only a few seconds after the shots. I'm sure the comm center was advised soon thereafter. I was impressed he wasn't screaming on the radio and covering up the other traffic.

Yes, a few armed citizens should have gone after these guys. After all, Joe Average Citizen is trained, equipped, and experienced to go up against automatic weapons, take the bad guys down with minimal loss of life, get them to the lockup (run by other civilians, I assume) without violating any of their civil rights, and prepare the case for successful prosecution, right?Idiotic.Go back to watching TV in your make-believe world of over-simplistic nonsense and leave the real world to adults.

Wrong.Line them up in front of a firing squad, in front of national TV, just as what the former President Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines did to Chinese drug smuggler Lim Seng back in 1972 :D
