A letra deste movimento é de Ruth Valadares Corrêa. Ruth também foi a cantora do movimento durante sua estréia em 1939, sob condução do próprio Villa-Lobos.

A masterpiece and the eternal reference for this work! There are several other wonderful atempts, the last by Elina Garanca (whose foreign accent is incredibly tamed)...But Sayao does things here that only she was able too, e;g. the delicacate singing. Let´s not forget that before Callas she and lovely Lilly Pons were considered the greatest.
