if you watch some of those detective cop shows on court tv, you'll sometimes see those detective pigs say things like "He immediately asked for his lawyer. I knew i got him when he made that little mistake." it's amazing how far the pigs will go to lead you away from the truth James Duane is preaching. never talk to cops and if you're arrested, all you have to say is your name, your social security number, and talk to my damn lawyer.

THIS. It happened to me. I swear to god. I didn't say jack except that I didn't do it and then AFTER I was convicted I read in the police report that the JUDGE BUT NOT ME read, that the officer who arrested me wrote that I confessed!Cops lie! Don't say ANYTHING except "lawyer" if you get arrested.

He's right, you don't HAVE to talk to cops, but his story about the defense attorney convicted of assaulting another attorney isn't good as a "poster boy" story. I have better advice... don't grab other people around the neck, and the cops won't need to talk to you. The scare tactic of the federal lobster law is all good and fine, but isn't in the public interest to find murderers and child molesters... not if this guy is acting as a defense lawyer... but that is our system, love it or not.
