Didn't the maestro use metal strings himself like Barrios did? Wonder if they were of a different sort than those popular today. I can't imagine they would've used such high tension strings on a fan-braced instrument.

good rendition... but the treble strings sound like metal strings.... perhaps too much use of nail... good... but i cant over how this sounds so metallic... should be rounder on the treble side.... warmer...

SilentSonance is right - there's a LOT you can do with this piece. Villa-Lobos was such an expressive writer, and I love playing this one myself. This is a sweet version, but, for effect, you can also sustain the notes on the bass strings - this lends a far more dramatic flavour to the piece.

in 4:27-4:30, could you show me how to play the two harm ? I have the sheet music but don't seem to know how to play it(which fret to touch). It is a very odd harm.Thanks for your help. |
