I'll co-sign that. The difference is that it's harder to weed out the musicians with real soul these days... although you have to admit the sixties had it's fair share of soulless acts concocted by record executives, it's just that they haven't survived 40 years like the artists with real musical vision.

The difference between "those days" and today is that these were REAL musicians who could make music with the most basic of tools. A guitar and mic. Think about how digital and protools makes it so easy to make so called music ... that lacks soul. Most every one of the musicians that played Woodstock in 69 had more talent than the majority of todays musicians. I dare Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake to make a RAW song like this without major help! They couldn't! |
