OMG his tiny little hand fretting notes on that gigantic fretboard. You could lay across that fretboard and still not fret all the strings, lol.

There were a couple spots where I noticed some beating--I think the choice of temperament is good. It sounds like a fretted string beating against an open string...probably one of the frets just needs some minor adjustment. But it's still much better than equal temperament, on the whole.

Es impresionante que una obra tan antigua suene tan fresca, tan eterna. Cuando los dos músicos se encuentran, el compositor y el interprete. Que dinámicas y que sonido tan bello. Gracias Daniel.

Well, actually if you use the appropriate temperment, the piece will sound MORE in tune, because it well have perfect thirds in the major chords. If you choose a termperment that is wrong for the key, you will have 3rds and 5ths that are very out of tune ("wolfs"). Having said that, Kapsberger does use dissonance as a specific effect.

I like it a lot. Brilliant playing. I think one has to be acustomed to the different temperaments used in that era, if not; all will sound out of tune, because our ears are tuned to the well tempered tuning. So for me, it was ok. |
