WATH IS THE NAME?

Yea. That's what I hate about a lot of people at my school, and a lot of people that i meet in general: They're closed- minded, always think in terms of labels and stereotypes, and some people won't even acknowledge me and other people because they're dressed differently.

Indeed, most people are just too single minded and ignorant to comprehend what's caused by simple stereotypes and labels.

Exactly. And, like you said, if someone wears black and they are automatically labeled 'goth', or someone says you have to wear all black to be goth, not only is that labeling but it's stereotyping.It's the sad truth of the world today. People can't expand their horizons and experience new things, they just aren't willing to.

In my opinion, visual kei is more of a combination of glam rock, punk, and some others with all the flamboyant looks and such. Besides, I'm not sure if "goth" even exists in Japan...they'd probably think you were refering to gothic lolita. ;)

Aha, I was never given an honorific, but, it's nice to know someone respects me that much to give me one. But yes, that's another good point; labels restrict what one could experience and possibly enjoy. For example, some people believe to be a "goth" you have to wear all black (althoug I disagree with this.) If you only dressed in black, your outfit would look dull, and boring, but if you incorporated other colors, your outfit could look more stylish. I hope that makes sense. ^^;

Thats the most intelligent thing I've heard all day. Yes, labels are bull, the 21st century is full of them and I can't stand it!

i agree with you, but these guys are still totally gothic. visual kai and goth goes hand in hand, just like goth and emo, rock and metal, metal and industrial, etc. etc. |
